Smarter After 60

About Smarter After 60

We believe AI should work for you – someone who’s lived a full life, but who still wants more.

AI is showing up everywhere, but most lessons are written for young tech workers. We teach the opposite way: start with a real problem (a confusing letter, a suspicious text, a faded photo) and show you – step by step – how a free AI tool can help.

Older adults have good reasons to be cautious. Leading research shows that privacy, trust, and data security are top concerns; 68% worry AI might reduce human interaction. We take those worries seriously. That's why safety and privacy are part of every lesson, and why we see AI as a helper, never a replacement for people.

A note from Kelly

Kelly Sharp, founder of Smarter After 60

Welcome! My name's Kelly, I'm 63, and I'm one of you.

I graduated from Brown University (an Ivy League school) in 1985. Ever since, I've spent my adult life mentoring and protecting the people around me as a son, a husband, a dad, a brother, and a friend. Looking out for others is simply who I am.

I've also been at the forefront of personal computing for 45 years. I built my first computer in 1982, and in my 50s I ran my own phone company. For the last 10 years, I've been an advanced user of artificial intelligence, or AI.

Here's what I've learned: AI can be a wonderful helper, but only if someone explains it patiently and honestly. Too often, people our age are left out of the conversation. Worse, we're targeted by scammers who use the same new technology against us.

That's why I started Smarter After 60. My goal is to help you use free AI tools safely and practically, in plain English, at your own pace. No jargon. No pressure. No judgment.

Make your life count

Most of all, we'll learn how AI can help us stay connected and care for the people we love. AI can make it easier to reach out, ease loneliness, and turn online contact into real-life connection.

It's amazing how AI can help you live a rich and fulfilling life!

You don't need to be "good with computers." If you can send a text message, you can do this. I'll walk with you one step at a time, the same way I've always looked out for the people I care about.

Thank you for being here. I'm glad you came.

Warmly,
Kelly Sharp
